What is Class Smash?
​
With summer right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to tighten up that 'beach bod' with Class Smash: A Food & Fitness Bash!
Get off the boring old ‘dread’-mill, grab your friends, and come join us for an afternoon bash featuring some fun, beginner level fitness classes and delicious food!
You’ll start the day with a core-engaging, indoor surfing workout from SURFSET, followed by a fun and blood-pumping BIG HIT Kickboxing class. Both are exclusively available to ‘Surf’s Up’ ticket holders. Next, all attendees will get to rock out with the POUND drumming workout, brought to you by KD Fitness! And finally, you’ll stretch and relax with a restorative yoga class.
After the workout, we’ll have some delicious munchables for your post-workout hunger! Plus snacks and drinks will be available all day long!
Oh, and did we mention that you’ll get to support some great causes? All of the profits from this event will go towards the MS Society of Canada and the Humber College Scholarship Fund. While you’re there, join in on some raffles, to support these groups, and take your shot at winning some fabulous prizes! Over $2,500 in prizes to be won!

Meet the Instructors

Andrzej is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and group fitness instructor with a love for all things surfing. He’s been a part of the fitness industry for well over a decade; he began his journey training in Shaolin Kung Fu in China 17 years ago, and has since attained his 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kempo Kung Fu, as well as becoming a Certified Chi Gong Instructor. Andrzej also studied at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition and has plenty of nutritional advising experience.

Gidon is one of the 2 founders of Big Hit Studios (he is the Director of Fitness) Gidon Gabbey, developed the company’s unique philosophy of You versus You. With over 15 years of personal training experience and a background in Muay Thai, Gidon brings a dynamic background and personality that drives members to push till the last minute "and earn their weekend".

Living in the gym herself, Kelly saw and felt the difference physical health can make in someone’s life and wants to help others see and feel it as well. Always ready with encouragement and enthusiasm, her approach to fitness is tough but compassionate, always there to give her clients an extra push when needed!

Debbie is a Kinesiology graduate from York University, where she found her passion for fitness 8 years ago when she became a fitness instructor. She loves being able to share her love for fitness and helping others lead a healthy lifestyle. She is passionate about her work because she loves working with people, and can spend every day helping them be their best selves.

Olivia is a Hatha yoga teacher and she loves what she does. Her personal experience has shown her how yoga can heal the body from the inside out. Since Olivia started practicing yoga, her scoliosis has corrected itself 10 degrees and given her a better overall understanding of the body and its needs. She has experienced first hand the healing benefits of yoga, both physically and mentally, and now wants to help others discover the amazing potential within themselves that yoga can offer.

After a 30 year career in lighting design, and at the age of 56, Laurie graduated from the Kula yoga teacher training. Her journey has included working with all ages and abilities, including seniors, schools, and sports teams. Through awareness, breath and asana, she assists students to develop a yoga practice specific to their needs. Laurie is a mother of six, and grandmother of eight, who believes that yoga offers us the gift of improved health, body and mind.
